Local Author Showcase Kids & Teens In-Person
Discover Rhode Island writers at a local author showcase.
Enjoy short readings, learn about new books, and talk with the authors and others who love good books.
The October 15th showcase features:
Rachel Menard, author of Game of Strength and Storm, book 1 of the Labors of Gen duology, a gender-bent YA fantasy Hercules retelling.
Sole Sheibar, writer of Learning Spanish with Sole, bilingual books for kids.
Adam Shaughnessy, writer of The Entirely True Story of the Unbelievable FIB where two unlikely heroes discover some shocking truths.
Gail Fulton-Anderson, author of the picture book Play Me, Please! An old, abandoned piano, living in a corner of a music classroom, longs for someone to play his keys again.
Rowena Zahnrei, writer of The Adventures of Nicki and Ricky: Baffling Birds! Nicki likes to speculate. Ricky would rather investigate. These sibling sleuths may not share the same attitude but, together, they seek to solve nature's mysteries with curiosity, a magnifying glass, and the Scientific Method.
Cynthia Di Filippo Elomaa, author of Nicky’s Very Messy Room. Room is a beautifully illustrated picture book that teaches children about personal responsibility, cooperation, and social and emotional development.
Jill Austin, author Where Did All the Rs Go? and other fun picture books. A silly story about a little letter R named Riley that moves to RI looking for other Rs to be friends with, but once he hears our accent he's left with only one question, "Where did all the Rs go?"
Brie Rowey, author of The Unmagical Little Witch. A charming picture book about a little witch who can’t do magic — teaching young children the power in creating their own magic.
Signed copies of the books will be available for purchase.
This event is free and open to all.
