Join us in welcoming James Loffler for his program: The Evolution of the Militia in New England- a presentation on the evolution of the militia from the time the colonists arrived in the New World, describing several legal changes over the years, the employment of the militia during war, state crises, the change from militia to national Guard, to the Vietnam War.
James Loffler retired from the RI Army National Guard as a Master Sergeant after 37 years of service and a Full-Time Guardsman for over 35 years. His entire career has
been working in the Computers/Telecommunications career field. In 2006 he was appointed State Command Historian by then Adjutant General Robert Bray and continued in that assignment until his retirement in 2019.
